What are the main things you look for in a waterproof jacket?

• I'll be testing this jacket while camping so it needs to be lightweight, so it doesn't add too much weight
• I opt for packable jackets so they fit easily in my rucksack
• Cuffed sleeves and a storm hood are a must to keep the rain out
• Non-restrictive for ease of movement
• High hydrostatic head to avoid the fabric wetting out
• Stylish so can wear it often

What were your first impressions?

The Cetus Lite, as the name suggests is incredibly lightweight and packable. This waterproof weighs a mind blowing 320g to be specific, while taking nothing away from the feel or build-quality of the jacket. It's got offset seams so I had freedom to move. This is especially helpful on wild camping trips so you can stay dry while carrying a pack or assembling your tent.

How did you test the jacket?

On a Wild camp in the north lakes where we experienced strong winds and heavy rain at night. I was caught out in the rain for 35 minutes at one stage of the trip, and had no sign of wet out, the fabric beaded well. The 3-layer PETRICHOR TECHNOLOGY allows moisture to be released during high-exertion and I found this jacket to be really well ventilated while moving, without letting any moisture into the jacket.

What do you think of the fit?

I went for the Large (I'm 189cm / 85kg) this was a brilliant fit. I layered the jacket with just a thin baselayer, and when the temperature dropped, I was able to wear a down jacket underneath. It's got good length sleeves and a non-restrictive fit due to the adjustable hood, and articulated sleeves.

What is your favourite feature?

Either how insanely lightweight it is while still feeling like a high-quality garment or the fully adjustable hood which feels spacious and well fitted at the same time not restricting view but allowing good wind protection.

Summary of your experience with the jacket...

Overall, I was really impressed, the Cetus Lite waterproof will be my go-to for most of my wild camping trips, the lightweight (320g) packable design means there's NO reason not to take it with you; even on those sunny days, with how unpredictable the weather can be in the UK, this jacket is a no brainer!
